It is God’s word that sustains us. If you are not part of a small group or study please consider joining one. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17- while the application is to salvation, it extends to believers as we are strengthened and encouraged in and through the Word of God. “…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”
Bring your Bible, and a heart that seeks to more deeply experience God's Covenant Love through the study of scripture. We'll meet in the sanctuary on Wednesdays at 10:00am.
Covenant's Book club is a way to explore issues of faith while staying healthy at home, and having the opportunity to engage a group that meets physically-distanced and hybrid once per month. Our next book is "David: The Divided Heart" by Rabbi David Wolpe. The Book Club will meet next on Thursday, Oct. 21. at 10:00am.
David Wolpe, whom Newsweek called “the most influential rabbi in America,” takes a fresh look at biblical David in an attempt to find coherence in David's seemingly contradictory actions and impulses. The author questions why David holds such an exalted place in history and legend, and then proceeds to unravel his complex character based on information found in the book of Samuel and later literature. What emerges is a fascinating portrait of an exceptional human being who, despite his many flaws, was truly beloved by God.
Carol Bounds will be leading Beth Moore's study on Galatians, "Now that Faith has Come" begins on Sept. 14th at 6:30 p.m.
Contact the church office to register and reserve your book.
Come join the women of the church for morning coffee, tea and fellowship. This group meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 10:00 am.
In July, Dr. Michael Ross of St. Paul Baptist Church of Boise asked Covenant to consider undertaking the 21 day racial equity challenge. The challenge invites us to do something every day to raise awareness about the perniciousness of racism and encourage action in response to that awareness. The PC(USA) has joined several nonprofits, organizations and school systems in adapting the challenge for our use. Find the link to the challenge here.
